Description

Hydro-Pro and Hydro-Tec pinless meters use high frequency capacitive sensors and are non-destructive, they measure the actual moisture content in the material being tested. Calibration is based on averaged curves obtained from multiple drying oven tests of samples within each species group or density setting.

Results are the real averaged moisture content over the selected sensor’s measurement depth **

Many lower cost pin type and pinless meters use the 0~100% Relative scale, readings with these meters particularly in building materials (brick, plaster, screed and concrete) are qualitative and not quantitative, therefore they can only be used as a relative reading for comparative purposes only (i.e. compared to a known dry area).

** Different meters, different methods of testing, density settings, penetration depth, surface conditions, porosity of materials, aggregate size, sand type, mix ratios, additives etc. all affect the results and it is unlikely that any two

meters of different types, method and settings will read the same.
